About the event

The Women of the University of Edinburgh Editathon is being held as part of the University of Edinburgh's very first Ada Lovelace Day, on Tuesday 13 October 2015. Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

The schedule includes:

  • guest speakers
  • composing music with algorithms
  • building Raspberry Pi enclosures with LEGO
  • metadata games (University of Edinburgh’s Library and University Collections division)
  • Wikipedia training session and edit-a-thon
  • and much more!

The Editathon in the afternoon will aim to update Wikipedia with biographies of notable women of the University (including staff and alumni) who are currently missing from the encyclopedia. Our hit list is below.
