Hi Thryduulf, welcome to the Wikimedia UK wiki! If you have any questions or comments about the work of the chapter, please do drop me a note or comment on the water cooler. In the meantime, thanks for your comment about merchandise, we'll certainly pick up the suggestion about key rings. If you ever find yourself in the Old St area of London, do drop in to the office if you'd like. You'll always find a cup of coffee, decent wi-fi and a warm welcome. You put absolutely hours of work into this and I am so so grateful! Really looking forward to finding out what worked and what didn't and making the results useful to the chapter! Thank you so much! Katherine Bavage (WMUK) (talk) 12:14, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you! I enjoyed working on this, and I too am looking forward to seeing the results of our efforts. Thryduulf (talk: local | en.wp | en.wikt) 12:43, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Etymology

Hi Thyrduulf, good to meet you at the workshop. I looked up Thryd- in Old English; it's the same as Thryth-, meaning 'might, power, force, strength; majesty, glory, splendour; multitude, troop, host'. Ulf (as if you didn't know) = Wulf, a (male) wolf, a wolfish person, a devil. The name therefore means something like 'Wolf-strength' (or perhaps 'Wolf-splendour', if that's imaginable - seems less likely), not a bad epithet for a warrior, I guess. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 16:08, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

I noted your deletion of this user's page and have attempted an explanation at ‎User talk:LfD. You may wish to keep an eye on it, but this seems to be good faith confusion as to the intended scope of this wiki. -- (talk) 12:36, 16 May 2014 (BST)

Thank you! I seem to be averaging one message of congratulations per wiki I've edited recently, I hadn't expected that at all! Thryduulf (talk: local | en.wp | en.wikt) 15:56, 17 December 2014 (GMT)
