Should speakers be required to be members, or should this be open to any Wikimedian? Mike Peel 22:29, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

I think we want to get the name "Wikimedia UK" out there, so anyone speaking at such events should do so representing the chapter. In order to do that they need to be a member, I'd say. The board can waive the membership fee if necessary - one speaking engagement should be considered an in-kind donation sufficient to cover the membership fee, really. (Although I'd hope only people in financial hardship would request such an arrangement.) --Tango 03:20, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I have designed and delivered lectures to Outreach students working with Reid Kerr College in Renfrewshire. I have also run a property network (Scotland Property Networking Club), with branches across Scotland, in which I delivered and led talks and presentations to groups of property investors. I also work on stage with The Sensational Christine Sparks.
