As part of the Ada Lovelace Bicentenary, the Bodleian Libraries and University of Oxford IT Services are hosting an Image-a-thon on Monday 12th October 2015, from 2pm to 5pm. Led by Martin Poulter, the Bodleian Libraries' Wikimedian In Residence, this event will show how Wikipedia articles are illustrated and get users adding images to articles.

We are lucky to have as guest speaker Professor Sylvia McLain, a University of Oxford bio-physicist.

This is a free event. The booking link for members of the University of Oxford is http://courses.it.ox.ac.uk/detail/TWOHB . If you are not a member, email martin.poulter@bodleian.ox.ac.uk

As part of this event, a call has gone out to Oxford librarians to share images related to the theme of women in science. We will be sharing newly digitised images of Ada Lovelace herself.

The project page on Wikipedia lists images uploaded and articles edited.

Attendees

There were seven attendees in addition to the trainer and guest speaker: six women and one man. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_University_of_Oxford/AdaLovelaceDay2015/imageathon#Participants

The opening talk was streamed live on Periscope, where it was seen by 25 people.

Eighteen articles were edited. Eleven images were uploaded on the day, but three more images were submitted as a result of the event and these will be added in coming days.
